Leonardo Da Vinci was an engineer, an artist, a scientist and he was also a renaissance man. He was not only a renaissance man because he happened to live during the renaissance. Renaissance means rebirth, and it was during this period art, techniques and knowledge was reborn from Greeks and Romans. What makes Leonardo a renaissance man is that he used the reborn information, only he added on to it. He learned what the human body looked like from someone else, but he added on to that and started making more accurate sketches. He used things someone else had already discovered.
